The use of the Montessori material is based on the young child’s unique aptitude for learning, which Montessori identified as the absorbent mind. The young child’s mind is like a sponge absorbing everything from the environment. In our classrooms the equipment invites the child to develop at his own periods of interest and readiness. Each child works at his own pace and since the child’s works from his own free choice without competition he fully benefits from it.
